The Makeup Timer Test Tag

Makeup timer tag

Following on from a post I read recently on Lily Pebbles’ blog, I decided to time myself to see how quickly I could do my makeup. It usually takes me about 15-20 minutes each morning, but that’s mainly down to the fact that I absolutely love the ritual of applying my makeup – I never rush. However, in the interest of getting out of the door a little quicker today, I decided to see how long it would take if I streamlined my routine a little. Here we go…

Shopping My Stash: Forgotten Products Rediscovered

Shopping the stash

Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup inspires me more than any other blogger – that girl just has so many good ideas. After reading one of her recent posts about “shopping the stash”, ie rummaging through your makeup to find hidden treasures, I decided to do just that. I love trying new products as much as the next girl, but there is something deeply satisfying about rediscovering an old favourite too – particularly if, like me, you hoard so many bits and bobs that you frequently forget what you actually have. So I unpacked my various boxes (of which there are many)…

New in from TOY Nail Polish: TOY Textures

TOY Nail Polish is a Colombian brand which recently launched in South Africa. Jules reviewed some of their polishes a while ago and was very impressed by the formulations – you can read more here. Following on from their successful launch, we were lucky enough to be sent some polishes from the latest collections to try.

Top 10 Brushes You Need

In order to get the best from your make-up, it is essential to use good quality brushes. Trying to differentiate the essentials from the non-essentials can be tricky – there’s so much to choose from and it can sometimes be a little overwhelming. All of these brushes are either brushes that I own or have tried, so I haven’t included brushes…

America Haul Part One: The Make-Up

I’m back, beauties! And whilst I thought I’d done a lot of shopping, when I unpacked everything to blog about it, it turns out I didn’t do nearly as much as I thought I did. Which begs the question…where did all my money go?! I have split my America haul into two parts: make-up first, and everything else second, and what I thought I would do is give you a rundown of everything I bought, together with a brief “first impressions”-type review on all of them. Let’s get started, shall we?

April Favourites: Camilla

Gatineau Serenite Soothing Concentrate Serum Julia and I were sent some Gatineau products to try recently (more on that soon) and this serum has quickly become a firm favourite of mine. It is intended for skin which is ‘in crisis’ and in need of a bit of TLC. It works by strengthening the skin’s natural barrier and rapidly reducing any redness or reactivity – and I can attest to the fact that it really does work. It is a real pleasure to use – the texture is luxurious and silky, and it glides onto the skin like a dream. I have been…
