January Favourites: Camilla

Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation Jules and I were given a bottle of this a couple of months ago and I must be honest, I didn’t touch it until the beginning of this year because my love affair with Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream was still going strong. However, I am kicking myself for not using it sooner because it is gorgeous! Although the formulation is lightweight, the coverage is excellent and it evens out my skin tone beautifully. The finish is luminous and glowy (my personal favourite, as you will no doubt be aware of by now) and it…

Guest Review: Pantene Pro-V Normal-Thick Hair Range

Pantene Pro-V Normal-Thick Hair Range

I was kindly sent this range to try but I found it a bit heavy for my very fine, thin hair (to be fair it’s made for thicker hair types) so I passed in on to my friend Dee to trial. She has the kind of long, gorgeous locks that make me weak in the knees, so she seemed the perfect candidate for this range, which aims to repair and provide your hair with protection, smoothness and fullness. Here’s what she had to say:

Camilla’s Current Skincare Routine

As mentioned in our Best of 2013 video series, I have completely changed my skincare routine over the past couple of months – I’ve even binned my good old Cetaphil cleanser after fifteen years of faithful service! I wanted to run you through what I’m using at the moment because I have seen such great results, and I thought it might be helpful if any of you are looking to switch things up a bit.

Summer Must-Have: Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Bronzing Beauty Balm SPF 30

I will forgive whoever named this product with the world’s longest name, but ONLY because I like it so much. I bought this after reading Tori from Kiss, Blush & Tell’s glowing review (Tori, you are my biggest enabler and I feel that you should know that). Stila bills this offering as a high-definition, age-defying beauty balm which contains innovative micro-spheres that hide skin imperfections and reduce wrinkle depth by up to 84%. It has also enriched with a particular blend of ingredients which have been shown to reduce inflammation, improve texture and stimulate collagen production. Well I don’t know about…

Lisa Miller Fragrances

I’ll be the first to put my hand up and admit that I know next to nothing about perfume – top notes, base notes…I just can’t seem to identify what’s what, no matter how hard I try. It’s been something I have been keen to learn more about, so when Lisa Miller, a Cape Town based perfumer, contacted Jules and I to discuss her line of fragrances, I jumped at the opportunity to learn more…

Review: Wella SP Volumize Range

A couple of weeks ago the lovely ladies from Modern Hair sent Jules and I some Wella products to try. One of my biggest hair concerns is lack of volume – whilst I have quite a lot of hair, it’s very fine and can look limp easily. Based on my feedback, they sent me a few products to help boost up my locks: a shampoo, leave-in conditioner, mask and mousse from the Wella SP Volumize Range – that’s a lot of volume right there! And in the words of the inimitable Dolly Parton: “The higher the hair, the closer you…

Review: Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser

Regular readers will be familiar with my three beauty obessions: lip products, foundations and body moisturisers. Damn, I love a good body moisuriser – so much so that I struggle to stick to just one and usually have several on the go at any given time. At the moment I am rotating between Lush Dream Cream, Mama Mio OMega Body Oil, Nivea Q10 Plus Firming Body Oil, and a mixture of E45 and NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil. But I have a confession to make: this week I found something that has completely knocked my socks off…so much so that…

Mask Dream Team: Origins Clear Improvement Mask and REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I’ll be the first to admit that I have never been particularly enamoured with at-home face masks, mainly because they never delivered the desired results (well, not for me, anyway). However, that all changed when Jules introduced me to the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, which I raved about here. It managed to obliterate my dry patches after just one use, and my skin was left clear and glowing afterwards – I was officially converted.  Fast forward to the night before Jules’ wedding in Greece, and she whipped out the Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask for the bridesmaids…

Review: Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Lush Mask of Magnaminty | All Dolled Up

Let it be said that I spend an enormous amount of money at Lush. And I am not ashamed – I have loved every single product that I’ve bought with the exception of one (Big Solid Conditioner), and let me tell you, I’ve bought a lot. Many of my buys are re-purchases (I Love Juicy, Seanik & Big shampoos, Veganese conditioner, Avobath and Twilight bath bombs, to name a few…) but most are new products that I haven’t tried before. Enter the Mask of Magnaminty: This deep cleansing face mask contains China clay and fresh peppermint that draw the debris…

Nail Polish Infatuation: Chanel Le Vernis in Taboo

Isn’t it exquisite? Now, I’m not usually a fan of dark nail colours (on myself) and I’m not generally a huge fan of Chanel nail polish (it chips if you don’t use industrial-strength base and top coats) but Taboo cast a little spell over me and I couldn’t stop myself from buying it. The colour is a deep, red-toned purple with flecks of iridescent shimmer shot through it, and when the light catches your nails, the polish reflects shades of red, violet, pink and copper – it’s utterly mesmerizing. We know that Chanel sets the trend and other brands follow…
