Smashbox Liquid Halo Foundation* We were given a bottle of this foundation at a Smashbox event last year but the colour has been a little bit light for me until now. It is absolutely brilliant – the oil-free formula creates a very light, natural, skin-like finish and is radiant without being too glowy. It made its way into Camilla’s Favourites back in January and I’m very happy to have joined the club. If you’re looking for something luminous, with medium coverage that is weightless on the skin, then look no further. Available at selected Woolworths stores and online for R370. Kérastase…
I find writing long reviews of individual products quite intimidating so they tend to languish in my drafts folder for months. I find it easier to give a short overview of products I’ve tried (like in Monthly Favourites) so I’m going to try putting together posts that offer a brief idea of my thoughts on a few things, then you can just leave a comment if you want more details. Yes? Ok, let’s go:
I’m a summer girl, there are no two ways about it. I love sunshine, being outside in my bare feet, the sand in my toes and salty beach hair. Winter is my nemesis: it wreaks havoc on my skin, hair and nails and leaves me feeling slightly depressed. We can’t avoid it however, so here are my top tips for injecting a little cold weather TLC into your beauty routine:
On 8 April 2014 I will be making my way to America for the very first time, and boy oh BOY am I excited! My boyfriend and I are starting with Coachella, followed by a glorious road trip to San Francisco, and ending off with a couple of days in LA – bliss! But besides the sights and sounds of California, there is something even more spectacular coming my way: SEPHORA. Aaah yes, the hallowed isles of Sephora, packed to the brim with much-coveted beauty goodies…forget Disneyland, Sephora is the happiest place on earth. It goes without saying that I…
I’ve recently bought a couple (ahem…a lot) of new products and I wanted to do a little show and tell for you. Four of the most expensive products were actually bought for me by my boyfriend (so you can relax, Mom), but I wanted to include them in this post because they are life-changingly amazing. I’ve had to split this post into two parts because of the volume of products, so here we go with Part One…
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer I bought this concealer when I was in the UK at the end of last year because I liked the Wake Me Up Foundation so much, and broke it out over the holidays when I felt it was too hot to layer corrector and concealer under my eyes. I also seem to be able to get away with less concealer when my face is tanned because my under-eye circles don’t appear as dark. I started using this on its own and not only is the formula creamy and easy to blend, but it feels really…
Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation Jules and I were given a bottle of this a couple of months ago and I must be honest, I didn’t touch it until the beginning of this year because my love affair with Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream was still going strong. However, I am kicking myself for not using it sooner because it is gorgeous! Although the formulation is lightweight, the coverage is excellent and it evens out my skin tone beautifully. The finish is luminous and glowy (my personal favourite, as you will no doubt be aware of by now) and it…
Summer can wreak havoc on your hair: chlorine, sunshine, sea salt and heat styling can make your locks dry and stressed rather than sexy and sunkissed. These products will help to fight frizz caused by humidity, inject moisture back into your strands and produce the perfectly tousled beach hair: Philip Kingsley Elasticizer: This world-famous pre-shampoo conditioning treatment delivers a rush of moisture to the hair’s cuticle. Plus you get quick results; suppleness, elasticity and bounce appear instantly without weighing down or coating the hair. Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash: Perfect for taking to the pool or the beach, the hollow, non-slip…
Ok, this is the last one, we promise.
