Favourite 5: Taupe and Bronze Eyeshadows

I seem to always gravitate towards taupe and bronze shades, despite the fact that I have more than I could get through in a lifetime. I like to play up my eyes as opposed to my lips, and I find that taupe and bronze shades really compliment my eyes and make them look super blue. These are my favourite five:

Desk-Side Beauty Essentials

Now that summer is officially here, it means that so is the office air conditioning. I don’t know about you, but my office subscribes to the more is more philosophy when it comes to air conditioning, so I feel perpetually parched and also, quite cold. Luckily I have a few bits and pieces on my desk which help keep the dryness at bay: Eucerin Aquaphor Jules introduced me to this and I’ve never looked back. Fantastic for dry lips and any other areas that need a shot of moisture, this ointment soothes irritation and hydrates dry patches in a flash.…

January Favourites: Camilla

Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation Jules and I were given a bottle of this a couple of months ago and I must be honest, I didn’t touch it until the beginning of this year because my love affair with Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream was still going strong. However, I am kicking myself for not using it sooner because it is gorgeous! Although the formulation is lightweight, the coverage is excellent and it evens out my skin tone beautifully. The finish is luminous and glowy (my personal favourite, as you will no doubt be aware of by now) and it…

Summer Lovin’: Essie ‘Too Too Hot’

I decided to treat myself to a pedicure last week at my beloved Dante Wellness Spa (Lizelle for nails, Nicole for waxes – trust me) because my poor, tired hooves were in desperate need of some TLC. As a surveyed the Essie rack of polishes, trying to decide which shade of red to choose, this little beauty caught my eye. ‘Too Too Hot’ is from the 2011 Braziliant Collection, and I can’t believe I didn’t spot it sooner – I loved it so much that I promptly bought a bottle and went home to paint my fingernails! As you can…

Camilla’s Current Skincare Routine

As mentioned in our Best of 2013 video series, I have completely changed my skincare routine over the past couple of months – I’ve even binned my good old Cetaphil cleanser after fifteen years of faithful service! I wanted to run you through what I’m using at the moment because I have seen such great results, and I thought it might be helpful if any of you are looking to switch things up a bit.

Skincare Revelation: Giving Up Dairy

As regular readers will know, my skin is rather temperamental – I suffer from redness, blemishes, flushing, rosacea…you name it, it’s on my face. In order to curb these afflictions, I have been taking an antibiotic called Tetralysal (a tetracycline) off and on (mainly on) for approximately ten years. Tetracycline treats bacterial infections and suppresses inflammation, and I took it happily and without question whenever I had a flare-up – I think I even took it continuously for 6 months once (!!). When I take it my skin looks magnificent – no sign of redness, not a hint of a…

December Favourites: Camilla

Tom Ford Neroli Portifino Eau de Parfum Summer. Italian Riviera. Sparkling oceans and fresh, lush foliage. Do you want to smell like that? I know I did, and now I do (hopefully)! This gorgeous offering from Tom Ford contains citrus oils and floral notes with amber undertones and is, in my humble opinion, the perfect fresh, zesty scent for the warmer months. To me, it smells clean, cool and above all, sophisticated – everything I want my summer to be. I have been wearing it every day since I got it and have received nothing but compliments. Sometimes I layer…

Brand Focus: Juliette Armand

A few weeks ago I admitted that I didn’t use sunscreen on a daily basis, much to the horror of our readers. Later on in that same week, a surprise package arrived from the girls at Positive Dialogue, the PR agency who represent Poise Exceptional Brands: a sunscreen from Juliette Armand! Now, I’d never heard of the brand before, but Poise is is the sole distributor for Mama Mio, so I knew it was going to be good. Juliette Armand was founded in 1992 by Greek couple Ioulia Armagou and Michalis Papaefstratiou, with the aim of creating affordable, high quality…
