This is the third ‘Instant Look in a Palette’ instalment from Charlotte Tilbury, and I think it’s her best work yet. For the uninitiated, the premise behind these palettes is to simplify your makeup routine by offering an easy-to-follow product sequence which ensures a perfect makeup look in 5 minutes or less. The first two palettes (Natural Beauty and Seductive Beauty) piqued my interest, but I didn’t feel compelled to buy either of them. ‘Beauty Glow’, however, was different story altogether – the rose gold and bronze tones reeled me in and I purchased it as soon as I saw it launch…
This is a long overdue post, seeing as we went to London almost 2 months ago now! We filmed a video when we got home, but the microphone short-circuited, which resulted in a delightful high-pitched buzzing sound throughout…not ideal. Anyway, we thought perhaps it would be best to show you our respective top 5 purchases (to go through everything would take an age) sooner rather than later as we won’t have an opportunity to film together for the next few weeks. So here we go: Camilla’s Top 5 RMK Cheek Brush Without a doubt, my number one purchase. RMK is…
Charlotte Tilbury is a name synonymous with glamour; her luxurious makeup range is the stuff of dreams, filled with exquisitely-packaged beauty products designed to make you look like your best self. Earlier this year, she launched a limited edition collaboration with the Norman Parkinson archive, which included 1975 Red, a classic 70s-style coral lip colour in her signature Matte Revolution finish. I promptly ordered one and can tell you that it’s the most comfortable and beautiful lipstick I’ve ever worn. You can see it in action here: The shade is no longer available but I got my hands on a…
Jules is in London at the moment (lucky), so I took the opportunity to place an order and stock up on some much lusted-after goodies. In the next two weeks, these beautiful items will be mine, all mine (*quivers with excitement*). Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in ‘Elizabeth Violet’ After seeing this in Anna’s (Vivanna Does Makeup) latest video, I knew it had to be mine. I’m a huge fan of coloured eyeliners, as I think they really enhance your eye colour and look so incredibly pretty. I rarely use black eyeliner as I find it to…
Tom Ford Neroli Portifino Eau de Parfum Summer. Italian Riviera. Sparkling oceans and fresh, lush foliage. Do you want to smell like that? I know I did, and now I do (hopefully)! This gorgeous offering from Tom Ford contains citrus oils and floral notes with amber undertones and is, in my humble opinion, the perfect fresh, zesty scent for the warmer months. To me, it smells clean, cool and above all, sophisticated – everything I want my summer to be. I have been wearing it every day since I got it and have received nothing but compliments. Sometimes I layer…
Regular readers will be familiar with our deep love for Charlotte Tilbury. My favourite look from her eponymous make-up collection is ‘La Dolce Vita’ and so I thought I would attempt to recreate the look for you using products available in South Africa. Note: I struggle to do a proper cat-eye flick, so this is more of an interpretation than a recreation, strictly speaking…hope you enjoy!
Happy Friday beauties! What would Friday be without a little product lust, am I right? Regular readers will be more than familiar with the deep love that Jules and I share for the fabulous Charlotte Tilbury, and when she announced the release of her eponymous make-up line, we both squealed with delight. Following on from her extremely successful Rock ‘n’ Kohl collaboration with Selfridges (which Jules wrote about here), she dazzled us with a collection so perfect, it’s hard to know where to start! Instead of taking the conventional route and releasing a generic make-up line, she took a different approach:…
It’s safe to say that most of the make-up looks that come out of fashion week are either totally over-the-top and unwearable or so subtle and sophisticated that they would only really work for the supermodels among us. But every now and then you see something totally gorgeous and inspiring, and that’s what happened when genius make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury posted these pics on her Instagram account of the look she created for Dsquared2 at Milan Fashion Week. Inspired by 1950s Americana, Hawaiian summers and Elvis Presley, the look is total retro perfection. Skin was bronzed and glowing with arched,…
Sunday afternoon. Warm winter sunshine. Couch. British Vogue. That, ladies, is my version of heaven. Add Kate Moss to the mix and, well, I’m pretty much the happiest girl in the world. My number one girl crush (sorry VB) was featured in this month’s edition looking as gorgeous as ever, complete with retro two-pieces, statement jewelry and animal print. The make-up was very seductive – smokey kitten-flick eyeliner and mussed-up, Brigitte Bardot hair – no one dons either of those looks quite as effortlessly as Miss Moss (or Mrs Hince, rather) – the woman literally smoulders she’s so sexy. I…
