Summer Lovin’: Essie ‘Too Too Hot’

I decided to treat myself to a pedicure last week at my beloved Dante Wellness Spa (Lizelle for nails, Nicole for waxes – trust me) because my poor, tired hooves were in desperate need of some TLC. As a surveyed the Essie rack of polishes, trying to decide which shade of red to choose, this little beauty caught my eye. ‘Too Too Hot’ is from the 2011 Braziliant Collection, and I can’t believe I didn’t spot it sooner – I loved it so much that I promptly bought a bottle and went home to paint my fingernails! As you can…

Summer Beauty: The Lookbook

Lauren Hutton at the Oscars in 1975 | All Dolled Up

I spotted this picture of Lauren Hutton at the 1975 Oscars in the latest issue of Allure magazine and was so inspired by her natural, summery look that I immediately went on Pinterest to find more images like it. I love how natural her hair and make-up is, and how the overall effect is glowing and healthy. Sun-kissed cheekbones, long beachy waves, a dusting of freckles and luminous skin are the order of the day so break out that bronzer and be inspired by these other natural beauties: Images via 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6

Guest Review: Pantene Pro-V Normal-Thick Hair Range

Pantene Pro-V Normal-Thick Hair Range

I was kindly sent this range to try but I found it a bit heavy for my very fine, thin hair (to be fair it’s made for thicker hair types) so I passed in on to my friend Dee to trial. She has the kind of long, gorgeous locks that make me weak in the knees, so she seemed the perfect candidate for this range, which aims to repair and provide your hair with protection, smoothness and fullness. Here’s what she had to say:

Camilla’s Current Skincare Routine

As mentioned in our Best of 2013 video series, I have completely changed my skincare routine over the past couple of months – I’ve even binned my good old Cetaphil cleanser after fifteen years of faithful service! I wanted to run you through what I’m using at the moment because I have seen such great results, and I thought it might be helpful if any of you are looking to switch things up a bit.

Skincare Revelation: Giving Up Dairy

As regular readers will know, my skin is rather temperamental – I suffer from redness, blemishes, flushing, rosacea…you name it, it’s on my face. In order to curb these afflictions, I have been taking an antibiotic called Tetralysal (a tetracycline) off and on (mainly on) for approximately ten years. Tetracycline treats bacterial infections and suppresses inflammation, and I took it happily and without question whenever I had a flare-up – I think I even took it continuously for 6 months once (!!). When I take it my skin looks magnificent – no sign of redness, not a hint of a…

Summer Beauty: Favourite Facial SPFs

Best facial SPF | All Dolled Up

I don’t wear SPF on my face every day. Controversial, I know! The truth is that I don’t buy into the skin cancer fear-mongerers who would have us believe that we need to slather ourselves with SPF 50 in order to spend eight hours at a desk. I think it entirely depends on your lifestyle and your skin type, but since I have an office job and medium-toned Caucasian skin, I don’t have to add a heavy-duty SPF into my daily routine. I rely on the SPF within my moisturiser to protect me from incidental exposure during the day but…

December Favourites: Camilla

Tom Ford Neroli Portifino Eau de Parfum Summer. Italian Riviera. Sparkling oceans and fresh, lush foliage. Do you want to smell like that? I know I did, and now I do (hopefully)! This gorgeous offering from Tom Ford contains citrus oils and floral notes with amber undertones and is, in my humble opinion, the perfect fresh, zesty scent for the warmer months. To me, it smells clean, cool and above all, sophisticated – everything I want my summer to be. I have been wearing it every day since I got it and have received nothing but compliments. Sometimes I layer…
