Beauty Fix | All Dolled Up

We don’t always get the chance to put together an in-depth blog post on a particular product or experience, so our Instagram account is a great way to find out what we’ve been up to. Here are the highlights from the past few weeks: Skin saviours: My long-haul flight essentials comprise Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm for obvious reasons, and a combination of my favourite dehydration heroes. Hydraluron to avoid having my skin sucked dry by the recirculated air layered under a thick layer of Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask really does the trick! I also usually pack a mini rosewater…

Bite Beauty Lip Lab

Bite Beauty Lip Lab | All Dolled Up

Hello lovelies! I’m happy to say that I’m back from the States (haul coming soon, I promise) and although I’m much poorer and am sporting an extra chin, I had an absolutely amazing time. One of the highlights was definitely a visit to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in NYC where I got to create my very own lipstick! Bite Beauty is an incredible natural lip care brand that produces all their products from food-grade ingredients, meaning they don’t contain any nasty chemicals and are literally good enough to eat. Their Lip Lab in SoHo is a fantastic little concept…

ELLE X MAC Viva Glam

ELLE x MAC Viva Glam

A few weeks ago I was invited to spend a few hours in the ELLE Beauty Closet with MAC Viva Glam; an invitation I wasn’t about to turn down! The format was a style challenge, and I was asked to put together two looks (day and night) to complement the new MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick and matching Tinted Lipglass. As someone who dresses for comfort rather than style, this was a little intimidating, but I stuck to what I know and pulled some of my old favourites out of the cupboard. These included my everyday ripped denim jeans,…

L'Oréal StudioLine #TXT Supersizing Spray | All Dolled Up

This post should really be called “my most used travel products” as they were all on heavy rotation while I was away for most of last month. I completely overpacked (as usual) and even though this meant I had plenty of skincare and make-up options, I still used the same small set of products almost every day. Here are the highlights: Benefit Porefessional Face Primer The dinky little miniature of this world-famous primer came in really handy in the sweltering heat of New York. My make-up was literally melting off my face but a layer of this underneath my base…

Anti-Ageing Skincare: The Basics

Iris Apfel (Age 93)

As technology evolves and treatments become more sophisticated, the anti-ageing* landscape gets more and more complicated to understand. Even beauty buffs like Camilla and I who live, eat and breathe the industry have trouble understanding it all so we went to see an old friend of ours for an explanation. Dr Shahra Sattar is a super-qualified and extremely skilled MD who has turned her focus to aesthetic medicine and is a font of knowledge on the subject. She recommends a four-prong approach to anti-ageing skincare, namely; injectables (e.g. fillers, Botox), in salon treatments (e.g. peels, skin needling, laser), internal health…
