Beauty Wishlist #1

I’m currently on a self-imposed spending freeze after a rather expensive trip to London where I lacked even more self-control than usual. Since I’m not allowed to buy any non-essential skincare or cosmetics for three months (*cries*) I thought I would share my wishlist with you of things I would buy if I could:

Beauty Wishlist 1

Borghese Active Mud Face & Body Mask (R390) – I first heard about this blackhead-busting mud mask when Fleur included it in her March favourites video. I love mud and clay masks as I find them so effective at clearing out pores and getting rid of impurities and Fleur’s review was so complimentary that I simply have to try it! Buy now »

Beautyblender (R220) – This sponge applicator is a bit of a cult favourite and I hear people either love it or hate it. It is designed to make the blending of foundation and other cream products (e.g. contour, highlighter and blush) completely flawless, giving your a perfect complexion. I’ll admit to being a brush girl all the way but I have to say that I’m intrigued! Buy now »

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner (R350) – Yet another skincare purchase enabled by Caroline Hirons! To quote her, “this is a beautiful, softening, exfoliating, brightening, hydrating toner that should be in everyone’s arsenal.” It is a gentle exfoliating lotion formulated with fruit acids to eliminate impurities that dull skin, leaving it smooth, soft and bright. Buy now »

Stila Convertible Colour in Lillium (R240) – I’ve always been a fan of multi-use products but unfortunately most of these so-called cheek-and-lip combos are only ever good for one of these uses. This product from Stila however gets rave reviews for being truly multipurpose, plus this subtle peachy shade looks like it would give just the right amount of colour to the face for a natural, effortless look. Smashbox Photo Matt Anti-Shine (R250) – My face is going through a seriously oily phase at the moment and I really don’t appreciate it. I’m like a glowing beacon by 10am and have to whip out the blotting papers to take care of my shiny t-zone far more often than should be necessary. I’ve heard great things about the Smashbox primers for oily skin and this one in particular promises to instantly absorb oil and minimise the appearance of pores for up to 8 hours. I for one would like to put that claim to the test! Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve heard such negative reviews of all the dupes (most saying that nothing lived up to the original Beautyblender) so it’s great to hear that this IS a cheaper alternative out there 🙂

The original is super, super soft and most dupes are very hard. The PMU one is really the best dupe I’ve found. I use it every day. Really worth a try xx
