Revlon Powder Blush in “Naughty Nude” I’m fairly addicted to blush so when I saw this one being mentioned a few times on YouTube, it was inevitable that it would find its way into my makeup collection. The shade is a light rosy brown with a subtle golden sheen, so it’s the ideal nude blush and perfect for winter because it’s not too bright. The formula isn’t the best; it’s a little bit chalky and the shimmer tends to emphasize skin texture, but I love the colour so much that I can work with these shortcomings. I think it would…
This post should really be called “my most used travel products” as they were all on heavy rotation while I was away for most of last month. I completely overpacked (as usual) and even though this meant I had plenty of skincare and make-up options, I still used the same small set of products almost every day. Here are the highlights: Benefit Porefessional Face Primer The dinky little miniature of this world-famous primer came in really handy in the sweltering heat of New York. My make-up was literally melting off my face but a layer of this underneath my base…
Essence Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil One of my makeup missions is to find a black eyeliner in pencil form that I can use for tightlining but that doesn’t transfer to the lower waterline. Potted gel liners applied with a brush work well but I find this a bit fiddly for day-to-day so I crave the convenience of a pencil alternative. I spotted this in the Allure Best of Beauty 2014 and finally tracked one down at my local Clicks. It’s not 100% budge-proof in the waterline but it’s a lot better than anything else I’ve tried and is super creamy…
The Body Shop Olive Body Butter and Body Scrub I know, I know, ANOTHER Body Shop body butter! I’m sorry, I can’t help it – they’re all so good and such great value. The flavour of the month is Olive – an earthier, more subtle scent than my beloved Almond one, it’s packed with super-moisturising organic olive oil and keeps skin soft and smooth all day long. The cream-based exfoliator from the same range uses crushed walnut shells and olive stones to slough away dead skin cells and leave the skin beautifully smooth without being too scratchy. I use it…
