Regular readers will be familiar with our deep love for Charlotte Tilbury. My favourite look from her eponymous make-up collection is ‘La Dolce Vita’ and so I thought I would attempt to recreate the look for you using products available in South Africa. Note: I struggle to do a proper cat-eye flick, so this is more of an interpretation than a recreation, strictly speaking…hope you enjoy!
I am taking a lot of make-up with me on this holiday, but I would like to place on record that the reason for this is because I am in charge of doing Jules’ make-up on her wedding day and I would rather be over-prepared than under-prepared. Under normal circumstances I would hardly take anything – tinted moistuirser, mascara, blush and a lipstick, max. I never wear make-up on the beach and I can’t stand traipsing around a scorching hot city with a full face on – it makes me feel claustrophobic. But, be that as it may, these are…
Jules is getting married in less than a month, and given that I (a brideslave) have been given the honour of doing her make-up on the big day, we thought we better get cracking and do a few test runs. As she is getting married in Greece, I need to make sure that the products I use are going to hold up in the heat – I don’t want her face to be slipping down her dress half-way through the ceremony! I have chosen a variety of primers and products with long-wearing formulations to ensure that she stays looking fresh…

It was a weekend filled with good food, great wine, lots of laughing and, of course, elasticated waistbands. For weekends like this, minimal/no make up is the order of the day, but since the whole weekend was being documented and I didn’t want to look like a complete dog, I had to pack a few basics. Here’s what made the cut…
Today my boyfriend arrives home after two very long months away. It goes without saying that I want to look my very best when I collect him from the airport later, and this is the look I went for…
Ever woken up after a big night, looked in the mirror and wanted to scream/cry? Me too. With this in mind, I chose a particularly hungover morning to film this tutorial to show you how to make a scary face look bearable again. You’re welcome! Before you watch it, there are a few things I would like to bring to your attention: “Trusty” is my favourite word. The colour of my foundation looks completely mismatched in this video, but I assure you it’s just the lighting. In real life I didn’t look like the Oros man. I do eventually cover…
