Face of the Day: The Returning

Today my boyfriend arrives home after two very long months away. It goes without saying that I want to look my very best when I collect him from the airport later, and this is the look I went for…

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is an absolute essential for special occasions like this one, so I gently smoothed this over my moisturiser before I started applying my foundation. I chose By Terry Sheer Expert Foundation today because it makes my skin look glowy and fresh, but still looks incredibly natural. For concealing and correcting, it will come as no surprise that I used Bobbi Brown Corrector and Tinted Eye Brightener for the under-eye area, and MAC Studio Finish Concealer for my blemishes. For eyebrows, I opted for a powder today (Bobbi Brown – Hot Stone), which I applied with a small angled brush. On the lids: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion followed by shadows from my Burberry eye palettes. I used the three pinky-purple shades from the Plum Pink palette on the lids, and white shade from the Pale Nude palette as a highlighter on the inner corners and brow bone. Have a look at how beautiful these palettes are:

Burberry
L: Pale Nude R: Plum Pink

To line the eyes, I used a variety of purple and black eyeliners  – MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Bourdeauxline, MAC Eye Kohl in Smoulder, Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Cassis and Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Purple Tang – on the top and bottom lashlines. I also lined my bottom waterline with a nude liner from 3 Custom Color to ensure that I look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. For my eyelashes I chose L’Oreal Extreme Volume Million Lashes Mascara – a perennial favourite.

I then contoured my face a little bit using my NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna, popped some Stila Convertible Color in Lilum on my cheeks and slicked some Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm onto my lips. All done…here’s hoping he likes it! Have a lovely weekend beauties.
