Cold Weather Favourites & Some Duty Free Purchases…

Hello, beauty babes! I recently returned from my incredible holiday to Iceland, and I thought I’d give you a brief rundown of the products which performed very well in the extreme cold, as well as some of the goodies I picked up while I was over there. Foundation duo of dreams: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream + SKOON Glow Drops. I know this is a massive tease because you can’t get IT Cosmetics in this country, but I was delighted to discover this concoction because I find the CC cream a bit ‘meh’ on its own. By adding a…

Shopping the Stash #5: A Full Face of Old Favourites

Shopping the Stash - A Full Face of Old Favourites

I haven’t bought much makeup lately. Mostly because I’m trying to be a responsible grown-up person with some financial restraint, but also because I just haven’t been in the mood. I’ve been much more focused on using what I have in my stash (which is considerable) so I thought it was time for another “Shopping the Stash” post. This time I’ll put together (almost) a whole face from old faves that I haven’t used in a while: Primer By far one of the drugstore’s most underrated brands is Max Factor. I don’t know what it is about it, but friends…

Beauty Hoarder: Eyeshadow Palettes

Morphe eyeshadow palettes

Guys. I have a problem. I have 14 eyeshadow palettes in my collection, and that’s after doing a massive clearout the other day. That’s over 200 different colours, which is ridiculous for someone who wears MAC Groundwork 90% of the time. I am an unstoppable force.

New Lippies // Crayons, Lipsticks, Glosses…

There have been a lot of new lip releases lately, so let’s get cracking… Clinique x Crayola Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm Collaboration* The original and best, as far as I’m concerned – I must have got through about 6 or 7 tubes of ‘Heaping Hazelnut’ over the past couple of years. Clinique’s latest collaboration with Crayola, the worldwide leader in colouring products, is designed to evoke the memories of childhood playtime and spark creativity. There are four colours available in South Africa, with varying degrees of opacity. ‘Pink Sherbert’ is very sheer, whereas ‘Red Violet’ packs quite a…

Favourite Five: Drugstore Foundations (SA Only!)

Best Budget Foundations | All Dolled Up

If you’re a local around these parts, none of these will come as much of a surprise. For the most part, they are old favourites I’ve been using for months or even years, and are all no-brainer options when I just need something that works. Most of them are extremely affordable and available at either Clicks, Dischem or both. In no particular order, here are my favourite drugstore foundations: Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Finish: Natural, skin-like Coverage: Medium Sun protection: SPF 15 Best for: All skin types* Price: R210 This is probably the foundation that I recommend most often…

January Favourites // Camilla

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette How glorious? The shade selection is sublime (I am a warm-toned girl through-and-though), the shadows are insanely pigmented, they blend like a dream and they wear really well. And the applicator brush that comes with the palette is brilliant – hands down the best I’ve ever tried. I love the versatility of this palette too, you can create so many different types of looks, and a little pop of red/orange/ochre makes my eyes look so blue, which I love. The only slight downside for me is that the shadows kick up a lot of powder,…
