Monthly Favourites aside, these are the five products I find myself reaching for morning after morning. One old favourite and four new ones – all of which have me completely smitten.
My foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturiser collection is currently at fourteen. FOURTEEN. I made a promise to myself that I would use a different one every day in an effort to try and get through them all, but despite my best efforts I seem to find myself using the same one every day – the Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme. I’ve sung it’s praises before so I won’t repeat myself, but I am definitely going to be repurchasing this when I finish it. Great coverage with a dewy, healthy finish – basically…this is ‘The One’.
I recently got my hands on the NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and I’m loving it. It’s not massively dissimilar from the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but I do find that it has a little bit more slip so you have a bit more blending time. Shadows stay put for hours with no creasing – peachy. I also use it on my brows to keep my eyebrow pencil in place all day long.
Although Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara will always be my number one, I wanted to try and find something a bit more affordable for everyday wear. I have always been a huge fan of Max Factor mascaras, so when I stumbled upon this gloriously fat bottle promising volume and length, I was sold. False Lash Effect Fusion adds volume at the roots and length at the ends, and it doesn’t clump, flake or smudge.
When Jules and I recently attended the MAC Divine Night Preview Evening, I picked up a set of four gorgeous lipglosses. My favourite out of the bunch has to be the Creemsheen Glass in ‘On the Scene’ – a pale, peachy-pink with a cream finish. I like to pop this on top of some lip balm and it leaves my lips looking really pretty and glossy (in a non-Kardashian way).
Another gem from MAC: Fix+ Spray. This facial spray can be used before or after make-up, or spritzed on throughout the day as a little pick-me-up. It’s infused with minerals, green tea, chamomile and cucumber which work together to calm and soothe the skin. I use it after I’ve applied my make-up to set everything in place and to add a nice boost of radiance to the skin. I find that my foundation looks fresh all day long, which is invaluable if, like me, you work in an office all day long and usually look like the crypt-keeper by 3pm!
