Review: Estée Lauder Double Wear All Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup

Estée Lauder Double Wear All Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup

When I first read about the new Estée Lauder Double Wear All Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup (‘BB’) I was pretty excited: a hybrid foundation combining great coverage and a dewy/glowy finish…that’s basically the Holy Grail as far as I am concerned. I anticipated the  BB to have the same coverage and longevity of Double Wear Light (‘DWL’), with the glowy finish of, say, the Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme. Nope. Although it undoubtedly has more luminosity than DWL, it is by no means gives the skin a glow. Well, certainly not mine anyway (but I should caveat this by…

Review: Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm Cream SPF 25

Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm

This was one of the products that arrived a few weeks ago, courtesy of our dear friend Charlotte who came to visit from London. Dr Jart+’s selection of BB creams have been bestsellers in their home country of Korea since their launch in 2004. If you use this serum underneath your moisturiser it will, over time, increase the skin’s hydration levels and minimize the need for frequent topical moisturing.…

Summer Essentials 2013

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: I used to suffer from a dehydrated under-eye area without really knowing it, and found that concealer always looked cakey on that part of my skin. I tried this stuff a couple of months ago and haven’t looked back. The formula is packed with avocado oil and shea butter, and goes on creamy and feels firming without being greasy. The best part is that concealer now goes on smoothly and evenly – result! Price: R280 (14ml) E45 Endless Moisture Daily Care: I generally can’t deal with heavy, creamy body lotions and it’s a non-negotiable especially…
