British Beauty Blogger Beauty Box

British Beauty Blogger Beauty Box | All Dolled Up

I was extremely lucky to get my paws on one of only 500 of these epic beauty boxes that went on sale a month ago, and sold out within four hours. If you don’t know of her already, British Beauty Blogger Jane Cunningham is an industry insider who gets the scoop on all the new releases, and posts new blog articles multiple times a day! She gives honest reviews and sneak peeks, and in her own words, “like[s] to showcase products I think are excellent, beautiful, and exciting.” Her carefully edited, limited edition beauty box is a collection of 14…

Nail Polishes You Need

Nail polishes you need | All Dolled Up

In the same way that every girl should have a capsule wardrobe of versatile classics that can be worn throughout the year, every girl should also have a collection of basic nail polishes for different occassions. Not everyone needs a fridge full of bottles like me (66 of them, to be exact) because a well-edited set of essential colours in good quality formulas will cover all the bases. This means that you can accessorise your more expensive “investment pieces” with cheap polishes in trendy shades when you want to mix things up. Here is my pick of the five best…

Fairlady Best of Beauty Awards 2013

We have been nominated in the Beauty Blogger Category of the Fairlady Best of Beauty Awards! We couldn’t be happier and feel honoured to be nominated alongside blogs we love, such as Kiss Blush and Tell, Style Scoop and For The Beauty of It. This nomination means the world to us because we have poured our hearts and souls into All Dolled Up over the last six months, and to see it go from strength to strength has been the most fulfilling, rewarding experience. We really value all of our loyal readers and we still can’t quite believe that anyone…

June Favourites: Jules

June Favourites

My five favourite beauty products from the month of June and mini reviews of each after the jump. Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner Sounds weird, right? Well, it is a bit weird but only because there isn’t anything else like it currently on the market (although Nivea are launching a very similar version soon). It’s basically a thick, deliciously rose-scented cream that you rub over your wet skin in the bath or shower, and then rinse off, leaving behind a very moisturising residue that keeps your skin soft and supple all day long. The reason I love it so much…

1. Essie Nail Polish in Sole Mate – R99 The perfect deep, rich plum colour for cold, drizzly days. 2. Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Beguile – R89 An intriguing, blackened blue-purple duochrome in a hard-wearing formula. 3. Inglot Nail Enamel in 965 – R99 Unusual, high gloss, blue-toned gunmetal shade with no nasty chemicals. 4. Nails Inc Nail Polish in Porchester Square – R110 A sophisticated, muted, mushroom colour – this bestseller is the perfect winter nude. 5. Ciaté Crème Nail Polish in Main Stage – R99 A bold but chic purple-pink creme for those unready to take…

The Repeat Purchases

The Repeats

Hello. My name is Camilla and I’m unfaithful. There, I said it. When it comes to cosmetics, there very few products that I will purchase more than once – mainly because there is just so much good stuff out there that I still need to try. However, there are a select few that I continue to come back to, time and time again. L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Of course I still adore my Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume and Maybelline Great Lash, but there is a special place in my heart for L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. I first bought this…

Little Black Book of Beauty: Dante Wellness Spa

Dante

When I first moved back from London, I was so out of the loop that I didn’t know where to go for the essentials like nails and waxing (the trauma). Luckily for me, a good friend quietly whispered in my ear that there was only one place to go, and that place was Dante Wellness Spa. And how right she was! Dante was founded a few years ago by the Stefanutti sisters, and offers a full range of treatments from manicures and pedicures to luxury facials and massages. I have been going to Dante for all of my mani/pedi’s and…

Revlon Nail Art Stencils

Revlon Nail Art Stencils

I came across these in Clicks a little while ago and I thought they were cute so I picked up the bow and moustache designs. Each little block is a self-adhesive stencil that sticks well to your nails and lets you quickly and neatly jazz up your manicure. I put them to the test using Essie Off the Shoulder as a base and Woolworths Metallic Champagne for the accent colour. My verdict: Fab and fun! Price: R29.95 Availability: Clicks, Edgars, Dis-Chem, some pharmacies Images by me.
