    Love this look!

Jules, can you recommend a primer for me please? I have “older” skin. Well….. Older than yours anyway. And I have oily T but dry everything else.
Can you also tell me your fave bronzer and contourer. And lastly, im looking for an eyeshadow palette with that lovely coppery brown you sometimes wear?

Hi Anni – it depends what you’re looking for from a primer but if the main issue is your oily T-zone then something like the Benefit Porefessional or Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer would be good (only use it in your shiny areas, not all over the face). Bronzer: Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour. Contour: Nyx HD Blush in Taupe, Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio (also contains a cream bronzer & matte highlight pencil). Eyeshadow: I’m not sure which colour you’re referring to – can you point me in the direction of a particular video or photo where I’m wearing it? Generally speaking, the palettes from Urban Decay are my favourites.

Thanks Jules! I don’t have deep pores but I do have lots of livery fine wrinkles around my eyes and smile line. And that’s in my dry area so I guess the same primer won’t work for my T plus my wrinkle area then. I’ll have another look through your old vids for the colour eye shadow. Will you be notified if I reply to an old vid?

It’s not so much that they’re pore-filling primers but their silicone-y texture makes them quite good for oil control. If you want more of an all-over primer that extends the wear of makeup then perhaps try the Smashbox Original Photo Finish/Photo Finish Primerizer or the Max Factor
Face Finity All Day Primer. Best to try out the textures yourself to see what appeals to you.

Yes, I will get notified if you comment on an old video.

I absolutely enjoyed this video. I loved that there were little mishaps because I learnt how to fix them, I often go overboard with my eyeshadow (I have small lids and big dreams) and the sticky tape trick is awesome! I also inadvertently learnt how to better apply my bronzer/highlighter/blush combo and how to bake! A BIG thank you.

Awesome, so glad you enjoyed it – thank you very much for the feedback! xx

  • Leanne

PS Does it have to be a translucent powder for the bake or can a light coloured loose powder be used instead with similar results?

    • Jules (author)

I’m not actually sure although I’d stick with translucent just in case using a tinted powder lays down too much pigment on the skin.

        Thank you!
