Mooi Hair & Beauty Salon is a beautiful, vintage-style pamper parlour in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town, run by the lovely sisters Karen and Andret. Karen and her team are responsible for the beauty treatments while Andret runs a crew of talented hair stylists and personally keeps my locks in tip top condition with a regular cut and colour.
I have been visiting Mooi for a few years now, ever since I saw the salon mentioned on Kim Gray’s blog. I’ve had a number of treatments there but most often I go for my monthly eyelash and eyebrow tinting. I have had some really bad eyebrow tinting experiences in my life (and no, I don’t have the patience to do it myself) so when I walked out of my first appointment at Mooi with the perfect set of face framers, I knew it was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Service is always generous and personal (they always greet you by name and with a smile), the prices are incredibly reasonable and they’re open late most evenings for after-work appointments. It’s also wonderfully convenient having both sets of services available in one location. So the next time you want to book a manicure, facial, haircut or massage, I highly recommend giving the girls at Mooi a call (Andret does my hair and Danielle does my beauty treatments). You can thank me later!
