Some New High-End Skincare Discoveries

I tested these three products over the festive season and honestly, I was so impressed: an antioxidant to help protect your skin from the harsh South African sun, a serum to help zap those nasty blemishes which tend to pop up after weeks of indulgence, and an eye cream to help minimise the tell-tale signs of too many late nights. A dream team, if ever I saw one! SkinCeuticals Resveratrol BE If you’re not familiar with antioxidants and how/why they should be incorporated into your skincare routine, then have a read of this post that Jules penned a while ago…

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer: Worth the Splurge?

I was very fortunate to be sent a Dyson Supersonic to test for two weeks – I literally squealed with excitement when it arrived. I have been blow drying my hair for nearly 20 years, and have been using a salon-quality hairdryer (Parlux) for almost 15 of those years, so I really feel like I am qualified to give you a thorough review on the pros and cons (of which there is only one, to be fair) of this magnificent piece of equipment. The engineers (103 of them!) behind the Dyson Supersonic aimed to create a dryer that could style…

Quick Reviews #30 // Some New Summer Body Products

Summer is just around the corner, and the thought of having to bare my winter limbs has me in a bit of a panic. I loathe lying in the sun/going to the beach, so I have to fake it when it comes to tanning/not looking like Powder. Today I’m going to run you through some new additions which I think are brilliant: a wash-off bronzing lotion, a body butter that smells like summer in a tube, and a body oil so glorious, you will never want to wash it off. CHANEL N°5 Fragments D’Or* Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?…

Jules’ October Favourites

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in 200 Medium* Good highlighters are unfortunately rather difficult to find at the drugstore, let alone in a subtle, creamy formula that isn’t full of chunky glitter. Luckily for me, Maybelline sent us their version so I put it to the test in a First Impressions video earlier in the year and was thrilled with the result! I’ve been using it regularly ever since but for some reason I keep forgetting to put it in my monthly favourites. The shade 200 is spot on for me – it gives the cheekbones a slightly peachy…

Quick Reviews #29

Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate* You will by now have seen nothing but rave reviews for the 8th generation Double Serum, and, spoiler alert: you’re about to read another one! Having never used the previous iterations of Double Serum, I can’t make any comparisons between older and newer versions. However, what I can tell you is that the 8th generation release is one of the finest products I have used this year, if not the finest. It’s worth the hype, worth the price and it’s something I can see myself having in my routine for many moons to…

Quick Reviews #28 // New In From Elizabeth Arden

FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder in ‘Medium’ I have been using this non-stop since we received it a few weeks ago, and I absolutely adore it. It creates a healthy, bronzed glow with a lovely, luminous finish that makes you look like you’ve just been on holiday. I swirl my brush around all four shades and the combined colour is perfect for my skin tone, but you can use obviously the shades separately if you wish (which makes it very handy for travelling as you don’t need to schlep a load of different products around with you.) It takes a lot…
