Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette How glorious? The shade selection is sublime (I am a warm-toned girl through-and-though), the shadows are insanely pigmented, they blend like a dream and they wear really well. And the applicator brush that comes with the palette is brilliant – hands down the best I’ve ever tried. I love the versatility of this palette too, you can create so many different types of looks, and a little pop of red/orange/ochre makes my eyes look so blue, which I love. The only slight downside for me is that the shadows kick up a lot of powder,…

Sephora Christmas Shopping List

Sephora

So, I’m off to the States in a few weeks and I’ve obviously been compiling a Sephora shopping list for months. The best part is all the Christmas gift sets that come out at this time of year so there are quite a few of those on the list, along with some cult favourites and recommendations from other bloggers that I’m keen to get my hands on. Autumn Beauty Update | All Dolled Up

With the arrival of Easter Weekend came the much cooler weather in Cape Town, much to my disappointment. Lush Jersey Bounce Shampoo I’m a devoted and longtime fan of Big shampoo for its ability to give my fine, thin hair lots of texture and volume. Jersey Bounce, the new kid on the block, is very similar in formulation; both contain plenty of coarse sea salt but the other ingredients differ slightly. While Big uses citrus oils, seaweed and coconut oil, Jersey Bounce is packed with honey, eggs (!), glycerine and olive oil to give the hair a little more nourishment. There’s no question that both are quite stripping (avoid if you have coarse or dry hair) but JB gives back…

Beauty Buddy Top Shelf #1: Jes

Beauty Buddy Top Shelf with Jes | All Dolled Up

We’re kicking off a new series on the blog today that takes a sneak peek inside our friends’ bathrooms and makeup bags to bring you their Top 10 favourite products. We thought it would be interesting to see what other people use and maybe discover a few new things ourselves! First up is our friend Jes, someone we’ve known since we were at school and with whom we share a serious passion for beauty. She’s a busy working mom so she likes things that work well and don’t require too much time and effort, but she also likes to glam…
