Beauty Evolution: Lauren Conrad

I’m not afraid to admit that I am a huge fan of Lauren Conrad. I was an avid watcher of Laguna Beach and The Hills, and have followed her career as she branched out into fashion design and writing. Her two non-fiction books, Lauren Conrad Style and Lauren Conrad Beauty, are firm favourites of mine and a great addition to any girl’s book collection. She also runs an awesome website called The Beauty Department with her glam squad, hair stylist Kristen Ess and make-up artist Amy Nadine, and a lifestyle blog at LaurenConrad.com. I love her modern classic style and that she knows what works for her… Even though she didn’t always have it all figured out! Here are some pics of her journey to style superstardom:

Lauren Conrad 2002
2002: Just like me in high school, Lauren was a slave to her naturally mousey brown hair.
Lauren Conrad 2004
2004: After being cast in MTV’s Laguna Beach, Lauren added some blonde highlights and started wearing her hair in beachy waves
Lauren Conrad 2005
2005: “That was my Orange County hair,” Conrad said of her highlights during the second season of Laguna Beach. “My hair was just so over-processed and awful.”
Lauren Conrad 2007
2007: The oh-so-ageing “Soccer Mom” bob she publicly regrets. Her signature cat-eye flick is starting to make an appearance though.
Lauren Conrad 2009
2009: Proof that a fringe (which she cut herself) isn’t for everyone.
Lauren Conrad 2012
2012: That skin! That eyeliner! The natural lip! This is the woman LC was born to be.
2012: Lauren Conrad
2012: She still knows how to have a little fun though. Here she’s working a bouncy dip-dyed ponytail and the ever-present black cat-eye.

2012: Soft waves, ombre hair and a bright red lip. Veronica Lake, eat your heart out!
