Urban Decay is a brand name that I’ve started seeing popping up regularly on overseas beauty blogs. They appear to have had a makeover and are now famous for their brilliant makeup, with many products reaching cult status with fans. I bought a few things recently and had them brought back to SA for me – these are the highlights:
No. 1: Eyeshadow Primer Potion – I have suffered from oily lids and eyeshadow creasing for as long as I can remember, until now. This stuff is amazing, it primes the lid, giving a smooth base for makeup application and ensures that your eyeshadow won’t budge EVER. I couldn’t live without it. Read more.
No. 2: Naked 2 palette – This is the second installment in Urban Decay’s famous Naked eyeshadow palettes. Packed with neutrals and a combination of matte and metallic shades, this is one of the best eyeshadow collections on the market. The quality is great, they blend beautifully and the colours are fab. Read more.
No. 3: Good Karma optical blurring brush – Confession: this is one of Camilla’s tools, not mine, but she absolutely raves about it. She says its her favourite foundation brush by far. The website blurb says “Flawlessly applies, buffs and blurs your liquid, cream or powder foundation. And like all our brushes, it’s totally vegan!”. So there you have it. Read more.
And these are a few items on my wishlist:
No. 4: De-Slick – This is a nifty make-up setting spray that is especially handy in summer when makeup tends to melt off your face. A couple of the beauty YouTubers I follow swear by this stuff and the online reviews are great. Read more.
No. 5: 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil – These creamy, long-wearing eyeliners are famous for their smooth application, easy blendability (yes, I just invented that word) and rad shade range. They’re also waterproof and super pigmented – what more do you want from an eyeliner?! Read more.
No. 6: Naked Skin foundation – This has also been getting rave reviews online. It’s touted as a “weightless, ultra definition liquid make-up” with great coverage and an invisible finish – right up my street! Read more.
Please, Urban Decay, open a store in South Africa! In the meantime, you can order Urban Decay products from Beauty Bay who also happen to offer free worldwide delivery.
