Photos & Swatches: Urban Decay Afterdark Palette

Urban Decay Afterdark Eyeshadow Palette

I vividly remember the first time I saw this eyeshadow palette. I was in Miami on holiday and had let myself loose in Sephora for one last hurrah before flying back to SA. They had a large display of new products just inside the entrance to the store, and, like a moth to the flame, I had been browsing this particular section for a few minutes. My eyes landed on the iridescent purple packaging of the Urban Decay Afterdark palette which had just been unpacked and lit up immediately. Inside were ten shimmering jewel tones in the signature UD formula…

Which begs the question…where did all my money go?! I have split my America haul into two parts: make-up first, and everything else second, and what I thought I would do is give you a rundown of everything I bought, together with a brief “first impressions”-type review on all of them. Let’s get started, shall we?

Jules’ Wedding Make-Up Trial

Jules is getting married in less than a month, and given that I (a brideslave) have been given the honour of doing her make-up on the big day, we thought we better get cracking and do a few test runs. As she is getting married in Greece, I need to make sure that the products I use are going to hold up in the heat – I don’t want her face to be slipping down her dress half-way through the ceremony! I have chosen a variety of primers and products with long-wearing formulations to ensure that she stays looking fresh…

With that in mind I decided to put together a piece outlining the 30 best tidbits in celebration of 30 years of beauty love! This is a long post, so maybe go make yourself a cup of tea and get settled in.

I plan to buy more stuff than I can carry when I’m there so I’ve probably packed far more than I really need but at least I know I have all my essentials in case of any beauty emergencies! Products: Skin Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Benefit High Beam Clinique Airbrush…
