Quick Reviews #25:
Some New Skincare

Quick Reviews 25 | All Dolled Up

Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream Kiehl’s make some of the best skincare on the market in my opinion (Ultra Facial Cream, Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Creme de Corps to name a few of my favourites) so I’m always interested when they launch a new product. The Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream is designed to help the skin “resist hydration loss while also aiding in recovery from existing skin damage” and is formulated from 99.6% naturally-derived ingredients, minus any parabens, mineral oils or synthetic colours and fragrances. The texture is fairly thick and the first few times I used it I didn’t…

The Ordinary Skincare Haul

The Ordinary Skincare Haul | All Dolled Up

If you’re anything like us and you spend a lot of your time devouring beauty content from bloggers, YouTubers and magazines then you’ve probably already heard of The Ordinary Skincare; DECIEM‘s latest functional beauty range. DECIEM also make the Hylamide Low Molecular HA Booster, my favourite hydrating serum, as well as the NIOD range, known for their sophisticated, next-generation face serums and formulations. The Ordinary has been getting a lot of attention recently because of its heritage (the DECIEM team are highly respected for the effectiveness of their products) and the price point – everything in the range costs under…

Review + Giveaway: SkinCeuticals

SkinCeuticals Review | All Dolled Up

There are certain skincare brands that I feel 100% comfortable putting on my face for the first time because the brand trust is so strong, and SkinCeuticals is one of them. With a simple mission to improve skin health through advanced skincare that is backed by science, their high potency formulas are concentrated in pure actives and proven to penetrate optimally into skin. There is no doubt that the premium range is up there in price and isn’t affordable for everyone, but the effective, clinical-grade skincare they produce is totally reliable, and that’s worth a lot when you think about…

New Skincare Launch // CHANEL Blue Serum

Chanel Blue Serum | All Dolled Up

Today marks the launch of CHANEL’s latest addition to their much-coveted skincare line: Blue Serum. Why ‘Blue’, you ask? Well, CHANEL Research’s scientific curiosity was peaked by the exceptional longevity of men and women who live in the so-called “blue zones” of Costa Rica, Sardinia, Greece and Japan. They live longer and healthier lives, with many inhabitants living to over 100 years of age. CHANEL Research cross-referenced its comprehensive data of skin aging with the latest studies carried out on these centenarians, and the result was the creation of Blue Serum: a cross-range skincare product for all skin types and…

Three Really Good Face Masks for Congested Skin

Best face masks for clogged pores

Blocked pores and bumpy skin texture are daily struggles for those of us with more oily skin. To be fair, it’s on the less traumatic end of the acne scale but it can be frustrating nonetheless, and luckily it’s fairly easy to treat. Ingredients like salycilic acid, glycolic acid and other gentle exfoliants are a great way to reduce and prevent clogged pores, but a good blackhead-busting face mask can also be wonderfully effective. Here are three of my favourites:

Favourite Five: Local, Natural Skincare Products

Best Natural South African Skincare Products

I’ve got a real soft spot for local, cruelty-free, beautifully designed, handmade, natural beauty products, especially those from small businesses. I think it’s so important to support these brands, not only because they’re South African, but because they produce high quality skincare that’s good for your skin and the environment. Here are the five products I use regularly in my routine and would highly recommend, none of which are likely to surprise you! All products were initially supplied as PR samples, but I’ve subsequently purchased all the items that I’ve finished, and bought a few more as gifts:

New In // Skincare

Environ Ionzyme C-Quence Eye Gel  I recently finished my Environ Firming Eye Gel, and whilst I liked it, it didn’t particularly blow me away, so I decided to give the C-Quence version a try. It contains a cocktail of vitamins, anti-oxidants and peptides to improve the appearance of fine lines (that’d be me, then), and to provide a daily defence against aging by keeping the under-eye area hydrated and cared for. I have been using it every morning and I officially cannot be without it now. It sinks in quickly, but still leaves the skin feeling hydrated and silky all day…
